Scott McGowan is an independent drummer, private drumset instructor, and freelance composer based in Tucson, Arizona.

At the age of 25 and having played drums for over fourteen years, rhythm is truly a way of life for Scott.  He is fluent in numerous genres through diligent practice and refinement, but most importantly exhibits a distinct learning curve and aptitude for experimentation that allows him to perform far beyond his years.
Scott is comparatively new to the game of instruction with just three years teaching experience, but his open mindedness, technical expertise, and thoughtful love for the art ensure the success of his students.  His Tucson-based Eighth Pillar Studio has proven an excellent environment for learning, practicing, recording, and everything else a musician needs.
When not performing or playing drums, Scott's musicianship is rounded out by composition.  Setting himself apart from the conventional norm of drummers he shows an appreciation and deep understanding of collegiate-level music theory, and just as with the drums, is consistently striving to improve his comprehension.
All of Scott McGowan's work, written or phonetic, is published through Eighth Pillar Publications.  Founded in the fall of 2007, Eighth Pillar Publications serves as a personal publishing protocol.  Although as of this time it does not accept new artists to its roster, Eighth Pillar Publications is a fully functioning outlet for Scott's copyright registration and royalty synchronization.

Scott McGowan is currently available for new professional opportunities ranging in everything from substitution gigs and studio session drumming to commissioned or commercial compositions.
